For teachers
Star Kids Lab works in any modern web browser, on computers and tablets. Pupils don't need accounts or email addresses, and there are no ads.
Ideas for lessons
- Computing: block-coding missions on sequences, turning, planning, loops and debugging. Pupils can also design a level for a classmate to solve.
- Maths: missions on equal groups, skip counting, multiplying, sharing and dividing, a daily puzzle, and "Big Ideas" that show algebra, functions and change as things to play with.
- Science: predict, test and compare. Colour mixing, and physics experiments on friction, magnets, levers, sound, light and falling.
- Literacy: pupils write a three-scene story, then turn it into a movie, a comic or a printable picture book. Read-aloud uses the device's own voices in English, Arabic and Urdu (Urdu voices are missing on some devices).
Good to know
- Each device keeps its own pupils' work. On a shared device, children can pick their own profile with a face and a nickname.
- There are no class accounts or teacher dashboards yet. Work can be printed (picture book, comic, colouring page) or saved as a file.
- The AI helper only runs when a pupil presses a ✦ button or uses the optional chat (a parent can turn the chat off). It has a safety check and a daily limit.
- Children can't find strangers or message each other. The only shared play is an optional Comet Racer race with friends who type the same room code: nicknames only, no chat.
