How we keep information safe

Our written information security programme · Last reviewed: 24 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-24 · Privacy policy · Terms of use

In short, for parents

  • We keep as little as we can. Nicknames, not real names. Drawings, photos and voices stay on your device.
  • We never see passwords. Passwords, PINs, codes and sign-in tokens are stored only scrambled.
  • Each child sees only their own progress. A child's login can't reach your account or other children.
  • We delete on time. A daily clean-up removes what we no longer need.
  • One named person is responsible, checks the risks every year, and knows what to do if something goes wrong.

1. What this programme covers

This is Star Kids Lab's written security programme. It covers all personal information we handle about children and parents: parent accounts and email sign-ins, child profiles, child logins, synced progress, sign-in sessions, ideas and stories shared with our team, and the short-lived counters that keep the AI helper free. It also covers how the site is built so that most of a child's work never leaves their device.

2. Who is responsible

Our security coordinator is Ishtiaq Ahmad (ishtiaq@starkidslab.com). He is responsible for running this programme: keeping it up to date, checking the risks, choosing and overseeing service providers, deciding who has access, and leading the response if something goes wrong.

5. Checking the risks

6. If something goes wrong

  1. Contain it: sign everyone out, change secrets and keys, and switch off the affected feature.
  2. Find out what happened: what information, whose, and how.
  3. Tell people: affected parents without undue delay, and the authorities where the law requires it (for example the UAE Data Office).
  4. Fix and learn: close the gap, add a test, and record it in the review log.

If you think you have found a security problem, please email ishtiaq@starkidslab.com.
